FRAGMENTS OF BEAUTY

This series of images serves as the starting point for my installation, THE INSATIABLES (2024). This collection is composed of frozen frames from gay pornographic movies of the 1970s and 1980s. My intention is to highlight the artistic value of these films by capturing moments of beauty found in the narrative segments between the explicit scenes. Upon watching one of these movies, I realized that what lingered in my mind were the landscapes, the interiors, and the still lifes. For me, this collection metaphorically represents how memories are constructed in a synthetic manner, generating visual and emotional landscapes filled with saturated images and intense feelings.
