Alejandro Manzano (Madrid, 1997) is a visual artist who's body of work spans photography, video, drawing, and writing. His art explores the emotional landscapes that emerge from the tension between personal perception and external reality.
Central to Manzano's work is an exploration of memory and the construction of personal fictions. He synthesizes transient moments into a continuous present, which, over time, fragments and becomes idealized. This process results in a saturation of emotions and images. Through these themes, Manzano investigates the effects of the contemporary world on how people experience life, including aspects such as time, love, loneliness, and physicality.
Alejandro obtained his Fine Arts degree from the Complutense University of Madrid and completed a one-year Erasmus program at the Hochschule für bildende Künste Hamburg (HFBK Hamburg). In 2021, he was selected for the VII Edition of MASTER.LAV, a prestigious program dedicated to artistic research and production with a focus on experimental cinema. His career was further enriched in September 2022 when he undertook a professional internship at the Peggy Guggenheim Collection in Venice and served as a gallery assistant for Nadja Romain.
